CONSALLEN CASING ROTATOR
CASING ROTATOR | ROTARY TABLE

Introduction:

The Casing Rotator will continuously turn a steel casing while drilling proceeds. In granular materials and unconsolidated sediments, the reduced friction may allow the casing to sink under it's own weight as drilling removes material. Weight can be added to the rotator and casing shoes with Tungsten Carbide inserts can be used to cut medium-hard materials, allowing the casing to pass through.

The unit can also be used to drive solid stem flight augers in contrary rotation. It can be site re-configured as a rotary table or kelly drive for rotary drilling.

Features:

The rotator is hydraulically driven through a reduction gearbox. The unit shown here delivers 10,000 N-m of torque at from 2 to 4 rpm, depending on the hydraulic power source and the motor fitted. Powered either by a separate power pack or from the rig's own system.

The unit may be jacked in conjunction with rotation as it can incorporate a yoke for the attachment of jacking cylinders.

When used as a kelly drive, the gearbox is not required, and is removed. The result is a rotation speed increase to about 50/60 rpm for rotary drilling, depending on the power source output.

The unit illustrated will rotate all casings up to 8-inch nominal bore. Driving sets can be supplied for any size of casing up to the maximum for the model. Bigger units can be supplied. Available optionally with trailer wheels for towing using the 3.75m torque arm as the carrier.
