 DROP-WEIGHT PILING RIG

Drop-weight piling rig based on the successful Consallen clutchless freefall winch.

OPERATIONS

Designed round our clutchless freefall winch, the drop weight capacity of our smallest unit is 500 Kg., suited to pile casings of up to 1000 Kg. The winch is driven by a diesel engine mounted on a common bedframe, but hydraulic drive is also available, allowing remote positioning of the power unit.

The hoist frame can be configured to allow the driving of tubes using either an internal drop hammer, or by top driving with leader and hammer guide.

The rig frame can be either wheeled - as a trailer type - or skid mounted. The skid version can be moved about the site using its own winch. See also:  Piling_Frame-Type-D.pdf

PILE CASINGS

Pile casing tubes shown here are normally bottom driven, using an internal drop weight and a dry concrete plug. Leading (bottom) sections are provided with a cruciform point. Follower tubes are socketed for site welding. Open ended tubes can also be bottom driven.

Pile casings are available from 2 inches nominal bore upwards.

Piles are driven to a "set" specified by the designer, or to "refusal" if the foundation loads are taken down to a resistant layer.
